"Together We Rise · Together We Lead · Together We Become Unreal"

01

Welcome to UGS

Welcome to Unreal Gaming Syndicate. You are no longer just another player in a random Discord server. You have joined a structured gaming community deliberately built around friendship, leadership, competition, creativity, and personal development. UGS exists to help members build lasting relationships, strengthen communication skills, develop confidence, and become dependable teammates and leaders.

Every member contributes to the culture of the Syndicate. The way we communicate, compete, resolve conflict, and support one another determines the kind of community we become. Rank, title, and badge mean nothing if the person behind them does not uphold the standards in this handbook.

Our Mission

Unreal Gaming Syndicate exists to create an inclusive, disciplined, and supportive gaming community focused on leadership development, competitive excellence, personal growth, community engagement, and mentorship. We build more than gamers — we build leaders, creators, and lifelong teammates.

Our Vision

Centered on excellence, innovation, and community impact in Appalachia and beyond. We aim to make Eastern Kentucky and the broader Southern gaming culture a recognized hub for structured competitive play and positive community infrastructure. Systems over noise. UGS is the standard.

Our Leadership Principle: Recognize people publicly. Address problems respectfully and privately.

"Together We Rise · Together We Lead · Together We Become Unreal"

— UGS Motto · 2026–2027

Our Community Philosophy

UGS believes that successful gaming communities are built through consistent improvement. Members should always look for ways to improve their attitude and conduct, their communication skills, their performance as teammates, their ability to lead and mentor others, their involvement within the community, and the experience they create for other members. Progress does not require perfection. It requires effort, accountability, and a willingness to learn.

Two Fundamental Commitments
  • Every gamer deserves respect.
  • No member should be intentionally left behind.

These commitments apply during games, meetings, events, competitions, Discord conversations, social-media interactions, and every other activity connected to UGS.

02

History & Legacy

Unreal Gaming Syndicate did not appear from nowhere. It is the current expression of more than fifteen years of community-building experience rooted in Appalachia and driven by a single founder's long-term vision.

In 2010, UGS FAME 7 (formerly KSI FAME 7, and known as Mr XGN), the Founder & CEO of Unreal Gaming Syndicate, launched the iconic gaming clan Xiled Gaming Network (XGN). XGN grew into a global community exceeding 200,000 members. It forged partnerships with major industry names and proved that a community built from Eastern Kentucky could operate at true scale.

The hard-earned lessons of that era — systems over noise, continuous improvement over ego, and the principle of cutting the limb to save the tree — remain foundational to everything UGS FAME 7 envisions for Unreal Gaming Syndicate today.

03

Divisions & The Squad Structure

Unreal Gaming Syndicate is organized into divisions, squads, departments, competitive teams, and community-wide leadership groups. This structure exists so that every member has a clear home, clear leadership, and clear paths for growth.

Divisions are the large operating groups within UGS. Each division is responsible for developing its members, maintaining activity, supporting its squads, and creating a healthy community environment. After the 2026 restructure, Shadow Forge is the primary active division and carries the full competitive and cultural identity of the Syndicate.

04

Membership Expectations

Membership in Unreal Gaming Syndicate is a privilege built on trust, not a right. Every member is expected to protect the safety, reputation, and stability of the community at all times.

Members must treat others with dignity regardless of background, identity, experience level, platform, gaming skill, rank, or position. UGS does not tolerate:

  • Harassment, discrimination, bullying, or hate speech
  • Targeted humiliation, doxxing, stalking, or intimidation
  • Unwanted sexual behavior, sexual exploitation, or non-consensual sexual content
  • Threats or intimidation of any kind
  • Repeated personal attacks

Friendly competition and joking are welcome when everyone involved is comfortable. When someone asks for behavior to stop, members are expected to respect that boundary immediately.

05

Crowns & The Outlands Ledger

"Crowns are not participation trophies. They are your Genetic Archive — immutable proof of your evolution inside the Syndicate."

The Crowns system is Unreal Gaming Syndicate's automated meritocratic ledger. It replaces subjective human opinion with a multi-path data pipeline that tracks every member's contributions across distinct Crown categories. Rank is earned by action, verified by system or staff, and protected by design.

1. Data Attribution
Actions are mapped to CrownPointSource entities. When a member hosts a game night, streams UGS content, wins a sanctioned tournament, completes training, or performs other recognized contributions, an automated hook or staff-verified submission enters the ledger. Nothing is left to memory or favoritism.
2. Tiered Ladder
Each Crown category maintains a dynamic tier ladder. Points are continuously summed and the system automatically calculates your current rank (Bronze → Silver → Gold and beyond). Your profile badges and leaderboard position update in real time.
3. Soft Decay — The Anti-Stagnation Engine
To ensure rank reflects current skill and engagement rather than ancient glory, the system uses a Soft Decay model. If a member's activity exceeds the category's grace period (default 45 days), points begin a controlled weekly bleed. A hard floor (default 40% of lifetime points) prevents total erasure of a legendary member's history. You never lose your base status — only the active premium that proves you are still in the fight.
4. Immutability & Integrity
All adjustments flow through the crownsEngine module, which atomically updates both the permanent ledger (CrownTransaction) and the denormalized profile view (MemberCrownProgress). Critical point movements are handled server-side. The client cannot spoof totals.
Conduct & Integrity: Attempting to spoof submissions, exploit decay rules, coin-run, or manipulate results will result in immediate ledger review, possible point forfeiture, and disciplinary action up to permanent removal.
Section 06 · Living Framework
SE7EN
SE7EN Is In All Of Us

The number 7 is not decoration. It is a living framework that every member is expected to internalize. These seven pillars define what it means to be Unreal. They guide daily decisions, leadership choices, and how we treat one another.

1
Strength Through Unity

We rise together or we do not rise. Individual skill matters, but the Syndicate's power comes from coordinated effort, mutual support, and the refusal to leave teammates behind. A strong member makes the whole stronger.

2
Excellence in Competition

We compete to improve, not merely to win. Excellence means preparation, sportsmanship, continuous learning, and holding ourselves to a higher standard than the average lobby. The Crown system exists because we believe in measurable excellence.

3
Loyalty to the Syndicate

Loyalty is shown through consistent presence, honest communication, protection of community assets and reputation, and choosing UGS standards even when no one is watching. Loyalty is not blind obedience — it is committed partnership.

4
Discipline in Conduct

Discipline is the ability to control one's words, actions, and reactions under pressure. Rank and title mean nothing without the discipline to use them responsibly. We address problems privately and recognize people publicly.

5
Mentorship of Others

Every experienced member has a responsibility to help newer members grow. Mentorship is how culture is transmitted and how leaders are made. Teaching others is not optional for those who want to climb.

6
Innovation in Play & Community

We do not settle for "the way it has always been done." New formats, better systems, creative content, and smarter processes are welcomed and rewarded. Stagnation is the enemy of an Unreal community.

7
Resilience in Adversity

Setbacks, conflict, personal hardship, and competitive losses are inevitable. Resilience is the refusal to quit, the ability to learn from failure, and the choice to keep building.

These seven pillars are not slogans. They are evaluation criteria for promotions, leadership selection, and how members are expected to carry themselves every day.

07

Code of Conduct

The Code of Conduct is non-negotiable. It applies to every member equally, regardless of rank, tenure, or contribution. Violation of these standards damages the entire Syndicate and will be addressed.
  • Harassment, bullying, discrimination, or hate speech of any kind.
  • Targeted humiliation, doxxing, stalking, or intimidation.
  • Unwanted sexual behavior, sexual exploitation, or any form of non-consensual sexual content directed at members.
  • Threats of violence or credible threats of any kind.
  • Cheating, hacking, account theft, fraud, or unauthorized software manipulation in any game or platform.
  • Public attacks on UGS members, partners, leadership decisions, or other communities while representing UGS.
  • Unauthorized use, alteration, or distribution of UGS intellectual property, graphics, documents, bots, or internal systems.
  • Poaching members from other squads, divisions, or partnered organizations through pressure or deception.
  • Repeated refusal to communicate with leadership on official membership, safety, or disciplinary matters without explanation.
08

Organizational Structure

UGS operates with a clear chain of command so that decisions can be made efficiently, accountability is maintained, and members always know who to go to for guidance or resolution.

Chain of Command (High Level)
Board / Executive Leadership
Overall direction, policy, partnerships, major discipline, and long-term vision.
Directors
Oversee community-wide functions (operations, competitive, community health, media, etc.).
Division Leadership
Responsible for the health, activity, and standards of their division and its squads.
Squad Leadership
Day-to-day member development, activity hosting, roster accuracy, and first-line conflict prevention.
Department Leads
Specialized operational areas that support the whole Syndicate.
Junior Leaders / Mentors
Assist squad and department leaders while developing their own leadership skills.
Members
The foundation of everything. Rank is a responsibility, not a status symbol.
Authority and Responsibility: Rank does not place anyone above the Code of Conduct. Leaders are held to a higher standard because their actions set the tone for everyone beneath them. Abuse of rank, favoritism, or failure to address clear violations will itself become a leadership issue.
Open-Door Principle: If a member feels their immediate leader is the source of a problem or is unresponsive, they may escalate to the next level. Leadership is expected to listen, investigate fairly, and respond without retaliation.
09

Rank Structure

UGS uses a structured rank system to create accountability and provide members with a clear, visible path toward leadership and recognition. Ranks are earned through demonstrated readiness, not popularity or time alone.

Rank Requirements & Expectations

Every UGS rank carries a written description, entry requirements, defined duties, and a clear reporting line. Select any rank below to read exactly what is expected before and after the promotion. Nothing here is a mystery — if you meet it, you earn it.

Unlimited Lieutenants & Captains. Unlike traditional clan structures, UGS places no cap on the number of Lieutenants or Captains a squad may hold. Leadership at those ranks is earned through performance and mentorship — never rationed by an open slot. If you meet the standard, the rank is yours; you are never blocked because someone else already holds the title.

Corporals & Mentoring
Mentoring Privates & New Recruits

Mentorship is the defining duty of the Corporal rank. Corporals are the bridge between brand-new Recruits and the rest of the Syndicate — close enough to remember being new, trusted enough to set the example.

01Greet & Welcome New Recruits

Corporals assist in greeting and welcoming every new Recruit as they arrive. A new member's first impression of the Syndicate is usually a Corporal, not an officer.

02Guide Them Through Discord

Help new members find their way around the Discord community — which channels matter, where announcements live, how to reach their squad, and who to ask for help.

03Mentor Toward Promotion

Mentor Recruits who are interested in advancing. Explain what the Recruit → Private step actually requires: consistent activity, completed orientation, a clean conduct record, and understanding of UGS standards.

04Pull Them Into Community Events

Encourage new Recruits and Privates to actually show up — game nights, social events, workshops, and Crown activities. Active new members stay; ignored new members leave.

Why it matters: This level of mentoring gives Corporals the responsibility they want without handing them authority that is too big for the rank. It is also how leadership identifies who is genuinely on track for Sergeant. Corporals who consistently welcome, guide, and develop newer members earn that promotion — those who do not, naturally weed themselves out.

Exact intermediate ranks and titles may be adjusted by leadership as the organization grows. What does not change is the principle: higher rank equals higher responsibility and higher expected standards of conduct.

10

Promotion System

Promotions are earned through readiness, not popularity or time alone. Meeting a minimum time requirement does not guarantee promotion. Leadership evaluates the whole picture.
  • Activity and consistent presence
  • Conduct and adherence to the Code of Conduct
  • Reliability and follow-through on commitments
  • Knowledge of UGS policies and the SE7EN pillars
  • Communication quality
  • Completion of required training or workshops
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and mentorship of others
  • Community involvement beyond minimum requirements
  • Current organizational needs and available positions

Divisions

SF · Primary Active Division

Shadow Forge

"Pressure. Discipline. Loyalty."
Shadow Forge

Shadow Forge is the primary active division of Unreal Gaming Syndicate following the 2026 restructure. It carries the full competitive identity and cultural standard of UGS. Members of Shadow Forge are expected to embody the SE7EN pillars at a high level, maintain strong activity, support one another under pressure, and treat the division as a long-term commitment rather than a temporary lobby.

Shadow Forge prioritizes competitive excellence, structured training, Crown Championship participation, and the development of leaders who can eventually take on squad, department, or higher responsibilities. The division exists to create an environment where serious gamers can grow without the chaos of unstructured communities.

Division Expectations
  • Consistent participation in squad and division activities
  • Willingness to compete and improve
  • Support for newer members and the mentorship culture
  • Protection of the division's and the Syndicate's reputation
  • Adherence to all UGS standards without exception

Additional specialized or experimental divisions may be authorized by executive leadership in the future if growth and operational capacity support them. Until that time, Shadow Forge is the home of the Syndicate.

12

Departments

Departments are specialized operational teams that support the entire Syndicate. They allow members with particular skills or interests to contribute at a higher level without abandoning their squad responsibilities.

Department membership is a privilege that can be revoked if a member fails to meet the standards of their department or of the Syndicate as a whole. Department work does not exempt a member from squad participation unless specifically authorized.
13

Sponsors & Partners

Unreal Gaming Syndicate and Very Unreal, LLC value relationships with organizations that share a commitment to quality, community, and long-term growth. Partnerships may take the form of product support, event collaboration, media opportunities, or strategic alliances.

Partnership Principles
  • All formal partnerships are authorized by executive leadership only.
  • Members may not commit UGS to any external relationship, endorsement, or obligation.
  • Branding and logo usage with partners follows strict guidelines maintained by the Art department.
  • Members who interact with partners are expected to represent UGS with professionalism and integrity.
Current & Historical Relationships

UGS and its predecessor organizations have built relationships across the gaming industry and regional ecosystem. Specific active partners, sponsors, and collaborators are announced through official channels and may change over time. Members are expected to treat all partner representatives with respect and to avoid any public conduct that could damage those relationships.

14

Accountability & Corrective Action

UGS uses progressive discipline when appropriate. The goal is to correct behavior, protect members, and preserve community stability — not to punish for its own sake. However, serious violations may skip progressive steps.
15

Additional Policies & Final Commitment

UGS maintains (or may develop) separate detailed policies addressing activity expectations, squad and division transfers, department participation, confidential information, internal investigations, appeals and hearings, diplomatic relationships, disciplinary procedures, Discord participation, equal gaming opportunities, squad growth and restructuring, violence prevention, harassment and intimidation, impersonation, leadership development, leaves of absence, membership reinstatement, open-door communication, promotions and testing, real-life responsibilities, relationship conflicts, social-media conduct, organizational neutrality, crisis and suicide-response procedures, member training, competitive-team conduct, recognition programs, the 7/VII distinction, and department awards and honors.

Policies may be updated as UGS grows. Members are responsible for reviewing official announcements and staying informed about changes that affect their membership.
Final Commitment

Being part of Unreal Gaming Syndicate means more than displaying a role, rank, badge, or title. It means choosing to:

Treat people with respect
Lead through action
Accept accountability
Protect the community
Help others improve
Represent UGS with pride
Contribute to something larger than yourself
